2019

  • November 2019- Lee Rosenberg was sworn in as a Second Vice President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He also serves of their Board of Governors.
  • October 2019- The new issue of the NYS Bar Association Family Law Review is now published. It features Lee Rosenberg's editorial,  "A Justifiable Double Standard: The Dangers of Access to Forensic Custody Reports by the Self-Represented".
  • October 16, 2019- Lee Rosenberg presented the update on the Office of Court Administration's Court Consolidation initiative to the Nassau County Bar Association's Matrimonial Law Committee.
  • October 12, 2019- Lee Rosenberg attended the AAML NY Chapter Board of Managers Meeting in Upstate New York.
  • September 27, 2019- Lee Rosenberg attended the AAML National Executive Committee Meeting in Washington, D.C.
  • September 21, 2019- Allyson Burger attended the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York Board of Directors meeting held at Columbia University Law School.
  • August 2019- I'Asia C. Scarlett-Jones joined the firm as a senior associate. She previously served as Principal Court Attorney to Hon. Ayesha K. Brantley in Nassau County Family Court.
  • August 2019- Lee Rosenberg has again been selected for inclusion in "Best Lawyers in America" in Family Law for 2020. He has also been selected to serve as the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Sponsorship Committee Vice Chair.
  • July 2019- Allyson Burger attended the NYS Women's Bar Association Leadership Conference.
  • July 2019- Lee Rosenberg attended the Summer Meeting of the New York State Bar Association Family Law Section and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers NY Chapter Board meeting. He was named Co-Chair of the AAML NY Chapter Legislation Committee. He was also appointed to the NYSBA Family Law Ad Hoc Committee on Domestic Violence.
  • June 17, 2019- Allyson Burger was sworn in a Treasurer of the Nassau County Women's Bar Association.
  • May 2019- Lee Rosenberg was nominated to serve a three-year term as a Second Vice President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
  • May 9-11, 2019- Lee Rosenberg attended the joint AAML/BVR Conference as well as the AAML National Executive Committee meeting
  • May 4, 2019- Lee Rosenberg attended the AAML New York Chapter Board of Managers' meeting and Judicial Round Table in New York City.
  • March 2019-  Lee Rosenberg attended the AAML's Mid-Winter meeting, including Executive Committee and Board of Governors meetings.
  • January 19, 2019- Lee Rosenberg attended the AAML Executive Committee meeting in California.
  • January 2019- Lee Rosenberg attended the Annual Meeting of the NYS Bar Association Family Law Section Executive Committee and the Board of Managers' Meeting of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers New York Chapter. He was elected to serve on the AAML's NY Chapter Board after completing his tenure as Chapter Parliamentarian.

2018

  • December 2018- The new issue of NYSBA Family Law Review has been published, featuring Lee Rosenberg's editorial, "The Effects of Mental Health Issues in Matrimonial Law".
  • November 2018-  Lee Rosenberg attended the annual meeting of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in Chicago, Illinois. He Co-Chaired the AAML Chapter Leaders Committee Meeting on November 7, 2018 and was sworn in on November 9, 2018 as a member of the AAML Executive Committee-- serving as incoming National Parliamentarian.
  • November 2018- The new issue of NYSBA Family Law Review has been published, featuring Lee Rosenberg's editorial, "Marital Fault: Redefining Egregious Conduct in the 21st Century"
  • November  1, 2018- Saltzman Chetkof & Rosenberg LLP is proud to have once again been selected for inclusion in U.S. News & World Report's  "Best Law Firms" rankings.

  • May 10, 2018- Lee Rosenberg participated in neutral evaluation/special master training at the Nassau County Bar Association.
  • May 4-5, 2018- AAML NY Chapter weekend CLE, Board Meetings, and Judicial Roundtable attended by Lee Rosenberg.
  • March 2018- Lee Rosenberg attended the mid-winter meeting of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers where he serves on the National Board of Governors.  Among other responsibilities at the conference, Lee Co-Chaired the Chapter Leaders Committee meeting and Chaired the Webinar Committee meeting.

  • May 5-7, 2007- Allyson D. Burger attended the ABA Young Lawyers Division Spring Meeting in Montreal where she moderated an international panel discussion on adoption, "So You Wanna Adopt: The Need, The Process, and the Benefits.” Ally is Chair of the ABA YLD Family Law Committee.
  • May 5-7, 2017- Lee Rosenberg attended the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers New York Chapter board of managers meeting and judical roundtable. Lee serves as AAML NY Chapter Parliamentarian.
  • April 26, 2017- Lee Rosenberg and Allyson D. Burger lectured on Advanced Family Law issues, covering various topics for non-traditional families, including guardianship, paternity, cohabitation/domestic partnership, child emancipation, and grandparent rights.
  • April 2017- The firm is proud to announce that Alyson D. Burger has been named a partner in the firm. We are equally proud to name Natalie A. Corriss as Senior Associate.

2016

  • November 2016- The new issue of NYSBA Family Law Review has been published featuring Lee Rosenberg's editorial, "The Court of Appeals Addresses Family Law: Some Welcome Attention." The editorial analyzes the recent cases issued by New York's highest court and includes the Court's decision in Matter of Brooke S.B. in which the Court addresses standing for LGBTQ... non-biological parents seeking to assert custody rights.
  • November 2017- Lee Rosenberg was nominated to serve as Parliamentarian for the New York Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers for 2017-2018.
  • November 17, 2016- Allyson D. Burger is a panelist and presenter at the NY Family Law American Inn of Court on "In Trusts We Trust: Are They In Or Out of the Marital Estate?"
  • November 15, 2016- Lee Rosenberg was a guest panelist for Hofstra Law School's "Family Court Review" journal presentations.
  • November 2016-  Lee Rosenberg attended the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers ("AAML") in Chicago where he serves as a member of the National Board of Governors. He was also selected as Vice Chair of the Webinar Committee for 2016-2017.
  • November 2016- The firm was again named among the Best Law Firms by U.S. News & World Report in Family Law for 2017.
  • October, 2016- Allyson D. Burger,  Chair of the ABA Young Lawyers Division Family Law Committee,  was selected to moderate a program during the upcoming ABA YLD Fall Conference in Detroit, Michigan.  The program, co-sponsored together with the ABA YLD Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee and ABA YLD Tax Committee, is entitled “LGBT Family Law Considerations and Practice Tips” on October 22, 2016.
  • October 8, 2016- Lee Rosenberg moderated and lectured in a panel discussion- "Support and Equitable Distribution Issues in Executive Compensation: From Incentives to Severance" at the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) NY Chapter Fall meeting in Albany, New York.
  • September 2016- Lee Rosenberg was again named among the "Best Lawyers in America" by Woodward-White in Family Law.
  • September 2016- Michael Chetkof, Lee Rosenberg. and Allyson D. Burger were selected as "Super Lawyers" for the New York Metro Area in Family Law, with Allyson Burger having been again named as a "Rising Star".

2015

  • November 2015- Lee Rosenberg attended the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in Chicago. He was elected to the AAML Board of Governors and received recognition for contributions to AAML Membership, Mentoring and Chapter Leaders 2015 initiatives by President James T. McLaren.
  • September 2015- Michael Chetkof, Lee Rosenberg, and Allyson D. Burger have been selected as 2015 “Super Lawyers” in the area of family law, with Ms. Burger being chosen as a “Rising Star”. Mr. Rosenberg,  has also again been chosen for inclusion in “The Best Lawyers in America”. The firm is a Tier 1 selection in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Law Firms” in family law.
  • September 16, 2015- Lee Rosenberg was among the lecturers at the Queens County Bar Association on the new spousal maintenance law for the QCBA's Family Law Committee

2012

  • December 11, 2012- The Nassau County Bar Association's Board of Directors unanimously passed a Resolution initiated by the Matrimonial Law Committee seeking to create transparency in Family Offense prceedings commenced in Family Court when there is a pending divorce action in Supreme Court. The Resolution is desiged to require the applicant to advise the Family Court judge of the existence of any pending matrimonial case which might be affected by the Family Court matter so that the judge can make the appropriate inquiry. This allows the court to address a litigant's attempt to improperly use the court to obtain contradictory relief without the judge or the other spouse being made aware of the other case.
  • November 2012- Lee Rosenberg attended the annual meeting of the American Academy of Matriminial Lawyers in Chicago. He was selected to serve as AAML Parliamentarian.

  • December 13, 2011- A Resolution authored by Lee Rosenberg as Chair of the Nassau Bar Association Matrimonial Law Committee recommending the repeal of the interim spousal support statutes and the elimination of "enhanced earning capacity" awards was passed by the Bar Association's Board of Directors. It will be forwarded to the New York State Law Revision Commission for consideration in their report to the New York State Legislature.

  • September 22, 2009- The firm successfully appealed a lower court decision which struck a New Jersey post-nuptial agreement in Friedman v Roman, 2009 NY Slip Op 06662 (2nd Dept, September 22, 2009).
  • September 15, 2009- Lee Rosenberg presented "The New 'Automatic Orders' Statute: A Case Study Under DRL 236B(2)(b)" before the NY Family Law American Inn of Court.
  • September 2009- This month's New York Family Law Monthly contains Part 2 of the article "Shopping Spree! What's Old and New in Attorney and Judge Shopping" by Lee Rosenberg. He also became First Vice Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association Matrimonial Law Committee.

  • June 2009- Lee Rosenberg's article "Drafting Matrimonial "Cohabitation" Clauses After Graev", appears in this month's New York State Bar Association Journal. His article "Modification of Support: No Easier to Get in Current Economic Times", was published in the New York Law Journal on June 19, 2009 at page 4.
  • June 2009- The "New York Matrimonial and Family Court Judicial Forum", a round table seminar and discussion with a panel of matrimonial and family law judges, was scheduled to be held on October 29, 2009 with Lee Rosenberg as the moderator.
  • May 13, 2009- Lee Rosenberg was a member of a panel of lawyers and judges discussing counsel fee applications and issues of civility before the members of the the Nassau County Bar Association Matrimonal Committee.
  • May 2009- Julie Tumminello became a member of the Young Lawyers and the Matrimonial Law Committees of the Nassau County Bar Association. She is also a member of Women in the Courts Committee.
  • May 2009- Lee Rosenberg participated in the New York State Office of Court Administration's Divorce Mediation program.
  • May 4, 2009- The New York Law Journal reported on the firm's case, L.D. v A.D. as a "Decision of Interest". The decision itself may be found at page 21, column 1, and involved downward modification of support issues.
  • May 1, 2009- Lee Rosenberg lectured on "Family Law: Helping Your Clients Through Difficult Cases", invloving the most recent developments in case law and legislation, domestic violence, child support, and same-sex marriage.
  • April 2009- Lee Rosenberg was informed that his article on the Court of Appeals' decision in Graev v Graev will appear in the June issue of the New York State Bar Association Journal.

  • December 11, 2008- Michael Chetkof was re-certified as a Court Examiner in Guardianship Proceedings by the Appellate Division Second Department.
  • November 2008- Law Clerks, Brynne Holt and Julie Tumminello, both passed the New York State Bar Examination.
  • October 21, 2008- Lee Rosenberg co-presented and provided materials for a lecture to the NY Family Law American Inn of Court entitled "A Judicial View: Elements of Proof to Present Upon Applications for Maintenence, Counsel Fees and Exclusive Occupancy Pendente Lite or After Trial."

  • July 2008- Lee Rosenberg was invited to join the formation committee of a potential Matrimonial Mediation Program in the Nassau County Matrimonial Part which is designed to advance the interests of litigants and children by providing them with an option of alternative dispute resolution in their divorce case.
  • June 16, 2008- Lee Rosenberg was selected to be among attorneys meeting with the New York State Legislature on the issue of no-fault divorce in Albany, New York and participated in the subsequent forum presented by the NYS Office of Court Administration's Office of Matrimonial Study and Reform.
  • June 16, 2008- Michael Chetkof attended the Office of Court Administration Office of Fiduciary Services' Elder Abuse Training for Court Examiner's program at the Judicial Institute in White Plains, New York.
